Kissing Bears

Polar Bears, Churchill, Manitoba

The great white hunters rule Cape Churchill in October and November when they migrate onto the frozen bay to stalk ringed seals. They gather by the hundreds on the shoreline of Hudsons Bay waiting for the ice to form. At this time they are quite social and tolerate each other. But once the Bay freezes over, it’s every bear for himself.
