Luxor Temple, Egypt
One of the many statues of Rameses II, along with a great obelisk stands at the front entrance of the temple. At 4,000 years old, the Luxor Temple was built by two of the most famous Egyptian Pharaohs, Amenhotep III and Rameses II, ‘the great builder’, was said to have sired over 100 children and lived until 1298 B.C. when he died at the age of 96. The temple was dedicated to Amun, ‘the King of Gods’.
